Alex Easton MLA has today called on Ards and North Down Council to get their act together and maintain their benches.
Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:
“It seems to me as I walked past the benches on Queens Parade that the Council are just not capable of maintain their benches with wooden slats missing from benches and quite clearly are rotting away due to the lack of maintenance and being checked. All it takes is for one person to sit on a bench that collapses and they will get sued, there really needs to be some sort of system in place to have these benches checked on a yearly basis and for them to be painted and maintained. On the scheme of things it’s not a lot to ask. I have reported this to the Council for repaired and for all benches to be checked.”
