DUP big beast Peter Weir has called on Unionist voters to turn out in force for Alex Easton.
The former North Down and Strangford MLA, now Lord Weir of Ballyholme, argues that ‘from actual result to actual result, only Alex is close enough in terms of votes to overtake Alliance to win the seat.
“As someone who believes our best future is as part of the United Kingdom, I want to see North Down represented by someone who similarly believes in that future, rather than someone who has still to decide what country Northern Ireland should be part of,” he said.
“I have lived all my life in North Down and represented the constituency for over two decades. I have worked with and seen at first hand the high level of representation that Alex has provided local people throughout that period.
“It is clear that no-one works harder for the people of North Down than Alex, something he will continue to do as MP.”
