Alex Easton MLA has today accused the Minister for Infrastructure for having zero interest in the state of road network system in North Down after declining an invite to see the state of the road network for herself.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said.

“I find this hard to accept that a Minister will not take the time to see for herself the state of some of the roads in North Down. We already know that we have a huge reserve road and footpath resurfacing list, we also know we get the least amount of funding for out Council area and the Infrastructure Minister is putting more funding for roads into other areas. I have reported hundreds of potholes which are taking far too long to get repaired and only this week I want out to Wandsworth Road, Clanmorris Avenue and the whole of Kilcooley Estate to report dozens more. Some of the areas are like war zones and it is totally unacceptable. The Infrastructure Minister needs to step up to the mark because it is becoming obvious that because this is a unionist Constituency that there appears to be a lack of interest on her part compared to other constituencies, and until she demonstrate otherwise that’s what I will continue to believe.”
