Alex Easton MLA has welcomed the news through letter from the Ulster Wildlife that the Balloo wetlands are to reopen in September.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“I have been dismayed that the Balloo Wetlands has been closed for nearly two years, so it is extremely welcomed news to hear the news in response to my letter that Ulster Wildlife and the Council will be opening the Balloo wetlands again for September”

“This area is a natural haven for wildlife and provides a beautiful walk in the middle of a built up area for local residents to walk and enjoy all that nature has to offer and to show of the unique wetlands that we have in the area. I am delighted the Balloo wetlands are to reopen and I urge both Ulster Wildlife and the Council not to take so long in reopening the area in the future.”
