Alex Easton MLA has today called on Ards and North Down Council to consider buying the formed Prison Service site at Lisneven in Millilse.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“I am today calling on Ards and North Down Council to seriously engage and look at potentially buying the Lisnevin site in Millilse. In my opinion the former prison site at Lisneven has it all, history, plenty of space, beautiful grounds and plenty of opportunities to develop for a wide range of tourist projects and community projects for the residents of Millilse and North Down.”

“This is such an exciting site, and in my opinion it would be just sheer madness and too big an opportunity for the Council to miss. Failure to do so could see the site sold to just anyone, and the opportunity for this amazing site could be lost for ever. The site is ideal for tourist potential with beautiful walks and a mansion house which is full of history for the public to visit. The amount of buildings on the site could be used for a community facility for the people of Millilse which they are sadly lacking, and the site could also be used for potential business conferences. I would today call on the Council to take this issue very seriously, and to grasp this golden opportunity for the residents of Ards and North Down.”
