Alex Easton MLA gets an update from a written NI email to NI Water that was submitted regarding the sewage system upgrade plans for Cannyreagh Road, Donaghadee.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“I am pleased to see from the letter from NI Water that the modelling element of the Drainage Area Study has been completed and NI Water has moved to the next stage. Why this report is so important because it will reveal the extent of the sewage network problem which we all know is there and will provide a way forward its plans and costs as to what is going to be done by NI Water to fix the problems, especially on the Canneyreagh Road.

There is no point in elected representatives just standing and pointing at the problem we need to collectively work together and pressure NI Water once the report has been released to take this project and resolve the issue. I hope that we are getting to a stage where we can resolve the issue for the people of Donaghadee as the town is growing larger and larger and the sewage and water infrastructure was not built for such an increase, let’s get this resolved and keep the pressure on NI Water.”
