Alex Easton MLA has today called on Ards and North Down Council to look at the building of a skateboard Park for North Down.
Speaking toady Alex Easton MLA said:
“I often wonder of out Council have a vision and are capable of addressing the needs of our young people and supply what is needed for them, an example is a skateboard facility to give a place for our young people to go a place which could be built out of private funding if the right conditions were created for a business to do so. This is something that would not only attract extra footfall into our town from far and wide, but would give our local youth something positive to focus their attention on. It would be something that could attract oversea competitions to take place in which can be marketed if done correct. We need to give our youth places to go, attractive ideas that connect with their identities and a skate park would be one of those ways to do this. Has the Council got the vision to do the things needed only time will tell?”
