Alex Easton MLA has congratulated the many Community organisations and private residents and the Council for the many Jubilee Celebration Events that were held over the Bank holiday and weekend to mark the Queens Platinum Jubilee.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“The last four days have been truly amazing and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the community groups and organisations and Council for all the street parties and events which took place right across North Down. I was privileged to have attended community parties in Kilcooley, Whitehill, Lisnabreen, Conlig, Breezemount, Rosepark and Beechfield in Donaghadee. I shared in the amazing atmosphere by being asked to speak at the lighting of the Beacon in Donaghadee and the privilege of also addressing the Sunday Morning service at the Church of the Nazarene with a chat on the history of the visits of the Queen to Northern Ireland and some the duties she performs on the behalf of us all. I was also lucky enough to judge a baking competition in Conlig and planted a platinum Jubilee tree at Ravara Court. I would also pay a big tribute to the wonderful mural which was unveiled in Kilcooley which was an amazing piece of Art Work for the whole community to enjoy and pay tribute to her majesty the Queen. All in all, it was a great bank holiday and weekend and on behalf of everyone, we extend our thanks to Her Majesty the Queen for her service and her devotion to the country and Commonwealth we love.

Thank everyone within the Community for putting the bank holiday and weekend programmes together, and on behalf of everyone, we extend our thanks to Her Majesty for her service and her devotion to the country and Commonwealth we love.
