Alex Easton MLA has today claimed the Councils new recycling centers policy is becoming a complete disaster

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

Over the space of Friday and Saturday I was sent numerous photos of recycling centers across the council areas from Ballygowan, Comber, Bangor, Donaghadee, Millisle and Holywood all standing empty. If these recycling sites are not being used to full capacity then what is happening to all the stuff the residents of Ards and North Down need to bring to the recycling centers. The question we need to ask and find out are people stock piling the items they need to go to the centers??? From the amount of calls to my office I have had to report much more incidents of dumping and am seriously worried by this.” I have also received calls from members of the PSNI who are deeply concerned at having to give their details to the online council booking system which identify their address and car registration. This is council policy is quickly becoming a disaster and I just hope the Council sees sense before the situation becomes worse.”
