Alex Easton MLA has today called on Council to get its act together after bins were left to overflow.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

Council and their officers have a duty of care to the residents of Ards and North Down, it must ensure that our rates are used wisely and that our services are protected and maintained to a high standard. Staff should be treated with respect and valued for the work they do. Council officers should never have allowed these bins on the Crawfordsburn Road to get into such a state and have failed the residents of the area, it is vital that our street buns are cleaned and emptied and if that means Council officers have to do that, its time our Councillors stepped up to the mark and hold officers to account and ensure our staff are treated properly with proper wages and conditions, and that officers are held accountable for their lack of foresight and inaction.”
