Alex Easton MLA has today accused the Council of messing up over the revamp of the Groomsport paddling pool.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“I have received numerous complaints by residents from Groomsport who have complained about the loss of their paddling pools. Having read the minutes of the Council meeting I see that it was proposed that the small paddling pool would be left with water splash pads installed. Unfortunately it would appear that both paddling pools have now been filled in with just the water fountain being installed. While the water splash pads that have been installed are a good thing, it is however not a good thing to lose the paddling pools, this is just a poor decision and shows a lack of understanding for the area and the local residents and tourist alike. The Council has wasted money and in my opinion paddling pools and water splash pads measures were the right combination, but unfortunately the Council has messed up yet again leaving everyone disappointed.”
