I am so disappointed to hear the result of the Courts decision not to grant leave to take forward the Judicial review to keep ST Annes Primary School open.
Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:
“I am so saddened to hear that the courts have not allowed a Judicial Review to be taken forward, leading to the full closure of St Annes. This is deeply saddening for the the Head John Hennesy who has been a beacon of light and a rock, the staff, parents and children who have fought so hard to keep St Annes PS open. There is something seriously wrong with our system which allows a primary school to close in a town that is the fastest growing small town across Northern Ireland, and were the only other primary school in Donaghadee is full to the brim. I feel the parents and pupils pain and offer any support I can to help with relocating to other primary schools.”
