Alex Easton MLA was pleased to get word that the Minister for Infrastructure plans to rolled out he 20MPH speed limits to schools right across Northern Ireland including North Down eventually.
Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said;
“I am pleased the Minister for Infrastructure plans to roll this out over time across Northern Ireland and North Down. However while this is of some reassurance I am concerned and disappointed that no school across the whole of North Down actually met the assessment for this speed restriction, and am somewhat confused by this. You only has to look at the Bangor Grammar site on the Gransha Road and express bewilderment that this did not meet the criteria.”
“However the Minister has committed to role this out across Northern Ireland and I will continue to monitor the situation and work towards schools across North Down being able to avail of this road scheme, and ensure the safety of our young people.”
