Alex Easton MLA gives a cautious welcome to the response from a resident’s survey by Council for a proposed play park for the Ashbury area.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“There is no doubt that there is an undeniable need for a playground for children living in the Ashbury area, with 2036 children under the age of 14 living in an around the surrounding area. I understand that 150 door to door surveys were conducted with 94 surveys being returned, largely in support of a proposed Playground. However there are some concerns that need to be addressed such as, any proposed playground blends into the natural surrounds of Linear Park and that there will be every effort made by Council to ensure that there will be no return to any levels of anti-social behaviour that once blighted the area. I give a cautious welcome and urge the Council to set up a working group with residents to ensure maximum input and support for the location type of equipment and safety issues are addressed.”
