Alex Easton MLA has pledged to keep the issue of Bangor Minor Injuries Unit to the forefront.
Speaking after receiving a response from the Minister of Health on 27/10/22 to his question seeking an update the North Down MLA stated;
“ I pledge to maintain support for the Bangor Minor Injury Unit and keep to to the forefront the benefits of this service in any future assessments.
We can recognise in response to Covid 19 the consolidation on the Ards site as part of the pandemic response.
However this situation is changing and progress has been made in many areas moving on from the pandemic response therefore renewed focus is required in this area.
While I acknowledge the review of staffing is being considered as part of “Review of Urgent and Emergency Services in Northern Ireland” it is important that the service provided at Bangor Minor Injuries is not allowed to get lost and future plans are detailed”
