Alex Easton MLA has today expressed exasperation at Council, Housing Executive and Department of Infrastructure over the ownership of a lane way at the back of houses at Coronation Avenue, Conlig.

Speaking toady Alex Easton MLA said:

“I am starting to get very annoyed at the lack of detail by the Housing Executive, Council and Department of Infrastructure over ownership of the lane at the rear of the houses in Coronation Avenue. As anyone can see this lane way is a mess and is full of dozens of pot holes overgrown and not maintained, but it used to be maintained. The reality is that the lane is widely used by residents living there and it is totally unacceptable that the lane way is being left in such a bad state of disrepair. I have written to the Council, Department of Infrastructure and even the Housing Executive all who in the past are denying responsibility despite it going into Council land on one side and the Housing Executive property’s on the other side. I will be calling a meeting together of all three agencies and interested parties to get to the bottom of the ownership, and if it helps I will suggest a joint venture between all interested parties to try and resurface the lane way which is not a lot of money in the scheme of things. The lane way needs to be made safe, made to look better and deliver a better experience for residents.”
