Alex Easton MLA has today called for a playground to be built in the Ballymagee and Kilmaine area of Bangor.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said;

“It is high time that North Down Borough Council looked at the complete lack of provision for children to play in the Ballymagee and Kilmaine areas, this area has a huge children’s population with two primary schools at Kilmaine and Ballymagee. It is important that these children are provided for with the same opportunity’s as other children have with playgrounds across north Down.it is vital that any new playground is situated in the right area and I would urge that the council takes into consideration the location and that residents are consulted at any location that is identified.”

“I believe the green area at the front of the Ashbury Shops could be such a location but would need the permission of the land owner, there is also Linear Park but that would need to be done in a sensible place that does not affect residents. It is high time for the Council to provide a playground for the area and I am calling for this process to be speeded up and drawn to a swift conclusion.”
