Alex Easton MLA attended the launch of the Donaghadee Master plan on Thursday at the Donaghadee Community Centre.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“This document is a fantastic achievement and offers an insight into the plans for the future of Donaghadee, it offers hope to the residents of Donaghadee of what can and hopefully will be achieved through the community, and statutory bodies for the town. The master plan has four main areas that are being looked at with the Town Centre, the Harbour, The Commons and Coastal Park and Crommelin Park.”

“Under these four sections we get a clear insight on what is planned for the future with the North Pier to be extended which will help to create a sandy beach, and also the creation of a new promenade and a boat pontoon to attract small craft. On the Costal path area there are plans to create a new Heritage Centre, out door gym equipment and cycle ways, and much needed car parking facilities. Also there are the fantastic plans to create a sports hub for Cricket, Rugby, Football and Hockey. I sincerely believe this will be an exciting future for Donaghadee and would congratulate all those involved in bringing this master plan together for the good of Donaghadee.”
