Alex Easton MLA has today called on Ards and North Down Council to get their act together and do regular collections at bottle bank sites in Donagahdee and that they ensure they tidy up round the bottle banks also.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“I am very disappointed to see that the council are not collecting and ensuring the bottle bank locations are being regularly collected and kept clean and tidy. It was with great disappointed that I was contacted as a result of the mess at the Donaghadee Rugby Club site. I went out to see the bottle bank location at the Donaghadee rugby Club to see the mess the area has been left in, and was horrified by what I witnessed with the bottles that had just been left lying there and not lifted when the bottle bank was emptied.”

“The council is letting the residents down by not having the bottle banks being kept tidied and collected on a regular basis. I am asking the Chief Executive to get on top if the situation and ensure that these sites are regularly maintained, cleaned and collected, let’s show some pride in our areas please.”
