Alex Easton MLA has been left Appalled at an incident that has seen joy riders crash through the fencing at Bloomfield Primary School in Bangor.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“This is truly a shocking and appalling incident to have taken place at a primary school. Joy riders have not only risked death and harm to themselves they have also shown by their actions that they could quick easily have killed a child. This incident happened in the morning in broad daylight seeing these reckless individuals losing control of car crashing through the schools fencing driving round the schools grass and back out to then dump the car at the back of Bloomfield estate and set light to it.”

“The actions of those involved could have quite easily have killed a child if the school had been open, and to ass to the danger caused by these thugs they then set fire to the car involved which could have also killed someone. Those involved are nothing better than thugs and need to be caught brought before the courts and sentenced to a period behind bars for their actions, these individuals are a danger to society and need to be stopped.

I am also calling on the PSNI to get on top of the recent upsurge in anti-social behaviour in and around the Bloomfield area and catch those responsible, the residents of Bloomfield deserve much better than having to put up with this type of behaviour. I am appealing to anyone with information to contact the PSNI as a matter of urgency.”
