Alex Easton MLA has today warned that some people may miss out on their energy payments for £600 if they do not have photographic ID,

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“I want to make sure very possible home across North Down is able to access their payment for the energy payment, however the problem that will; arise for some people is that the vouchers which are being distributed to about 500,000 people homes who pay their electricity bills quarterly or use pre-payment meters. Those people will; have to cash their voucher at the Post Office and unless you bring photographic Identification alongside a bill of some sort with your name and address then you won’t be able to cash the energy voucher.

The problem is not everyone has Photo ID so if you do need photographic ID quickly then you can go to the NI Electoral Office and they can sort that out or alternatively you can call into my constituency office in Donaghadee and bring two past port photographs and we can do the form for you and send off, this will take several weeks to get the ID. I don’t want anyone to lose out so please do not lose out if you don’t have ID then come see me.”
