Alex Easton MLA has written to the Department for Trade and Investments permanent secretary Andrew McCormick to ask to look at the possibility of trying to get a bank to install a much needed ATM Cash Machine for the residents of Millisle.
Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:
“I have been aware that the lack of a cash ATM facility has been an issue for far to long for residents living in Millisle. Residents have for far too long have been having to drive to the likes of Donaghadee to avail of an ATM cash machine. I believe that there needs to be facility set up in villages across the peninsula and not just Millisle, as it would offer a much needed facility for residents to be able to avail of their cash without having to travel too far.”
“I was pleased with the written reply from the Permanent Secretary for the Department of Trade and Investments Mr Andrew McCormick, who in his reply has stated that the Consumer Council for Northern Ireland is to meet with LINK and that officials are to discuss the issue of the potential of a free to use cash machine for Millisle. While this is encouraging to hear that the issue is to be discussed it is actions we want to see not words. I will continue to pursue the issue for the future.”
