Alex Easton MLA has today urged the public to be careful as Syringes and needles were found lying on the footpath in the Lisnabreen area.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“It was reported to me that there was an abandoned syringe and needle found on the footpaths in the Lisnabreen area of Bangor. This issue was reported to me and then I reported it to the PSNI. I would urge the public to be vigilant when out walking and if they come across any syringes and needles to not touch them but report the location to the PSNI.

This is a very dangerous incident as a child could have picked this up and maybe pricked them, and goodness knows where the needle has been or what the syringe and its contents have been and someone could have been hurt. Those individuals who were careless enough to drop this on a public footpath need to realize the harm they are doing themselves as well as the potential harm they could have caused someone else.”
