Alex Easton MLA receives a letter from the DRD Minister putting on hold proposals to reduce bus services from Donaghadee to Bangor.
Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:
“I am very pleased that the public petition in Donaghadee has appeared to have had the effect of putting on hold the crazy proposals by Translink to reduce the bus routes from Donaghadee to Bangor. This appears to have set up a process were the unions will be allowed to produce hopefully an alternative to the UUP DRD Ministers current plans thought Translink .”
“While we are not out of the woods yet on this, it is good to see that by the residents of Donaghadee fighting this proposal and showing how they feel, it has led to the process being put on hold! I would remind Translink that the elderly are at most risk, and it is important we keep the level of bus services at the current level for all the residents of Donaghadee.”
