“I am revealed to hear that nobody has been injured in this unfortunate incident, but I understand that significant damage was done to HMS Bangor. I would praise our navy and how proud of the job they do to protect our country in difficult circumstances.
It is such a tremendous honour to have a ship that is named after our city and hope that the damage can be repaired as soon as possible, so HMS Bangor can continue its duties, we are all thinking of those who serve on board.”
