Alex Easton MLA has today accused the Department of Infrastructure of not ensuring that drains are clear and unblocked after another flooding issue on the pavements of Ballymacruise Park, Millisle.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“I was horrified while out in Millisle to come across several incidents of flooding across footpaths in and around the Ballymacruise area of Millisle. Speaking to local residents this seems to be a regular occurrence in the area and it is clear that the drains are not working properly as they are blocked up with debris. It seems to me that the Department of Infrastructure does not check that the drains are cleared on a regular basis or this type of issue would not occur. I am calling on the Department of Infrastructure to ensure their drains are checked and cleaned on a regular basis especially in Millisle as it is not fair to the residents living in the area, especially the elderly.”
