Alex Easton MLA has today called for the Council to review its bottle bank collections after huge volumes of bottles and recycled material are left at Banks Lane, Ballyholme.
Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:
“It is so important that our recycle collection points are emptied on a regular basis, I was horrified to hear and see the build-up of material that has occurred at Bank Lane at Ballyholme. When I visited the site after complaints I was subjected to a mountain of material just lying in a pile at the recycle point. It is not acceptable that this material was allowed to gather for so long by Council before being emptied and collected. I would urge the Council to review its collection policy with the contactor with a view to ensure during holidays periods that this is not allowed to gather in such a fashion and that collection days are regular and often.”
