Alex Easton MLA has expressed his disappointment in DFI Street lighting division after leaving residents in the dark for a month.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

The street lights at The Green and Oakley Avenue in Holywood have been out for a month and despite the lights being reported as not working by residents and politicians there has been a failure to act. Having been in the area only yesterday I spoke with frustrated residents some who are elderly who are concerned about falling in the pitch dark. This is an unacceptable position to be in and the street lighting division of DFI have unfortunately not stepped up to the mark on this issue and need to sort this out. I intend to write to the Permanent Secretary for the Department of Infrastructure and urge them to get his situation sorted and a month is far too long to not have fixed the fault.”
