Alex Easton MLA was deeply angered at the dumping that has occurred at Craigantlet.
Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:
“I have been left flabbergasted at the amount of dumping that has occurred at this abandoned road section of the Craigantlet Road. This dumping is deeply unwelcome by the local rural community and is an act of unwanted dumping which is polluting the local community, and an act of environmental vandalism, especially as the area is a fantastic area for wildlife and visitors to use the Cairn Wood”
“This act of dumping is an act of sheer laziness, which has seen someone who couldn’t make the effort to take it to the correct site. It means that this will have to investigated who dumped the rubbish, and it also means that tax payer’s money will have to be used to remove the rubbish. This is totally unacceptable to the residents of Craigantlet but I want to make it clear the Council are to blame as they have made it so difficult to use the recycling centers with this online booking system. I would urge anyone who knows who is responsible to report it to the Council. In the meantime it has been reported to the local Council, DFI and Forest Service because we are not sure whose responsibility it is with a view to having the rubbish cleaned up.”
