Alex Easton has welcomed the development which will see Extern take over six contacts from FASA but wants more done to save the Bangor FASA services.
Speaking today Alex Easton said:
“While I welcome that 1 position from the Bangor FASA end will be kept, after discussions and agreement with the Public Health Agency I am now looking to see what can be done through the DSD Department to secure more of the Bangor FASA services of the operation. I have written to the DSD Minister and will push to try and retain more posts through Extern to provide the lifesaving services on drug and alcohol addiction that FASA were providing for our local community in the North Down & Ards area.
