Alex Easton MLA has welcomed the plans for a new Ards and North Down Primary Care and Community Centre.

Speaking on receipt of him pressing Minister Swann on the issue and receiving confirmation of the plans the North Down MLA stated;

“ I welcome these strategic first steps towards the new Ards and North Down Primary Care and Community Centre however I will be pressing and monitoring the implementation of these as we must now move from plans to progress in a timely manner.

I acknowledge the commitment in the Primary Care Infrastructure Development Strategic Implementation Plan but we must move to measurable progress to achieve this objective.

Having visited the facilities I have been struck with the first class health and social care staff many of whom over the past 2 years continues to provide quality frontline services in the most complex and challenging covid environment.

We should now move to replicate this first class service with quality facilities.

We now have city status for Bangor and have in North Down a second to none place to live, work and invest coupled with outstanding geography and quality educational facilities from nursery level up.

It is time to move from plans to progress”

Alex Easton concluded by stating that he would continue to monitor this as he has set it as a primary constituency objective and while he acknowledged that plans can be hampered as the Minister outlined they must not be hindered.
