Alex Easton MLA has welcomed the news from a letter he has received from Transport NI that there is to be a pedestrian crossings built at the Chippendale Avenue juntion on the Donaghadee Road, Bangor.
Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:
“I am so pleased, and very much welcome the news that there is to be a new pedestrian crossings put in place at the Chippendale Avenue juntion on the Donaghadee Road, Bangor, but it needs to be constructed as soon as possible. I have campaigned for a pedestrian crossing at this location since 2001 when I first did a public petition from local residents. This is to be welcomed with children and parents crossing at this point to attend Ballyholme Primary School and also local residents crossing to use the local shop. It is an imperative that Transport NI ensures the safety of children and residents that cross the Donaghadee Road on a daily basis as we know of the many incidents of people being hurt. This is good news for the residents of Chippendale, and the sooner TNI have the funding in place for the work to be done the better as the scheme is considered as a high priority by TNI!
