Alex Easton MLA has welcomed the move by Council to submit an application for the Dereliction Intervention Funding Scheme for properties in Holywood.
Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:
“I am pleased to see that the Council have submitted an application for the Dereliction Intervention Funding Scheme the Department of Environment, which would see 4 listed buildings in Holywood which are situated at 1 Stewarts Place, The Olde Priory Inn, 122-124 High Street having works carried out to them having essential repairs & painting to the four listed Buildings, and cleaning away vegetation and general rubble. This would see these buildings looking a lot more respectable and hopefully as the economy starts to pick up would see potential investors taking interest in these building and purchasing them.”
“ The funding application is in and around £89,820 and has been submitted through Council with support from Building Control and NIEA, I really hope this application is successful and we will see this much needed work done to safeguard and protect these four listed buildings for the future.”
