Alex Easton MLA has urged North Down Borough Council to clean up the path way along the beach at Groomsport due to being overgrown with vegetation.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“Having been out for a walk with my wife along the beach in Groomsport, I was surprised to see that the costal pathway is being overgrown and being eaten away by vegetation. The path is steadily becoming overgrown with grass and weeds and it will be soon the case that you will not be able to distinguish between the path and the vegetation.”

“I am urging the Council to take action to clear back the vegetation and to allow people to have full use of the path, it is important that the path is kept totally clear, as vegetation can be slippery especially if it rains and it is important from a health & safety point of view that this is cleared on a regular basis so that residents and tourists can enjoy the path clear of vegetation.”
