Alex Easton MLA is to contact British Telecom to see if they would take steps to improve the look of their building and property, on the Southwell Road, Bangor.
Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:
“I have to say the British Telecom building on the Southwell road is an iconic building if somewhat of a mystery as to what goes on behind it closed doors to the public. The Southwell Road is an area that is very much in need of restoration and I know that the Department of Infrastructure do have the street on their list to resurface the road, but that could be a long time away. However there are other issues on the Southwell Road which could be improved such as the British Telecom building. For instance there have been four boarded up windows on the front of the building for my entire lifetime, surely those windows could be restore, we also have the ghastly ugly railings surrounding the site and I’m sure the railings underneath the windows could have nice metalwork art work done instead of these ghastly looking railings. I intend to write to BT to see if they would meet and discuss the possibilities of them putting something back into the community by improving the look of their building for the residents of Southwell Road, Bangor.
