Alex Easton has endorsed the reasonable request for safe staffing levels, adequate pay and affordable mileage rates of health and social care staff on the frontline.Speaking following supporting and speaking with staff at the picket line at Bangor Community Hospital this morning the local MLA stated;“ It is in the interests of patient and service user safety that there are safe staffing levels it is a no brained to suggest otherwise. These staff have held the frontline through the Covid pandemic, and they merit out support for an adequate pay rise.Staff prepared to supply and use their own vehicles to care and support people in the community should have an affordable mileage rate that is reasonable and appropriate. Many of the staff I supported today work already above and beyond their contracted hours they do it as their job is their vocation they have supported us they deserve our support now”Alex Easton MLA was supported on the picket line by colleague independent councillor Wesley Irvine and Bill Keery.Ends
