Alex Easton MLA has been left shocked and stunned at the news that 3M are to offer 34 staff voluntary Redundancy.
Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:
“I have to say I am deeply stunned and shocked by this news, having visited the factory on several occasions and have friends that work for 3M this was the last thing I was expecting to hear. This is one of Europe’s biggest manufacturers of masking tapes and will be a huge blow to Bangor if these redundancy’s go ahead”
“I will try to make contact with senior management when the factory opens again after the Halloween period and see if I can get a meeting with the DETI Minister Jonathon Bell to come down for a visit and see if there is anything that can be done to help with the current situation.”
