Alex Easton MLA left shocked at the state of the Shore Road, Portaferry with a huge crater and a clear view of sea lapping below.
Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:
I am amazed and bewildered to see such a huge hole in the road coming out of Portaferry, and another two also forming on the coastal road further down. There was no visible signage up coming up from the Portaferry end and the road was being used from both directions.
There needs to be an investigation as to why this extremely dangerous had been apparently reported to TNI who have been aware of this for the last three months. This should not have been left in such a dangerous condition and urgent action is required to ensure the road is closed and there is no access along it and also that urgent repairs are taken as a matter of urgency, this matter has been reported to both TNI and the PSNI, message is for drivers to avoid the Shore Road, Portaferry.
