Alex Easton MLA has received a date for a meeting in September with the Minister for Education to address the need for a new build for St Colombanus College.

Speaking today Alex Easton said.

“I am delighted that the Education Minister has agreed to a meeting with myself and the Head Master of St Columbanus College to discuss the potential for a new school build. I am today calling on the Minister for Education to consider the need for a new build for St Columbanus as urgent! The school is now quite old and much of its infrastructure is now old and in need have repair. The reality is that that in the long term it will cost less to build a new school, than to keep pouring money into a crumbling infrastructure. With the size of the school which attracts pupils from right across the religious divide it is important that we address the needs of the pupils, parents and teacher alike and move this project on to the next level. I will be raising all the issues at the meeting with the Minister in September and urge him to look seriously at this as a priority capital new build.”
