Alex Easton MLA has today called on the Health Minister to speed up delivery of the Covid Vaccine to GPs surgery’s in North Down as figures show a slow amount delivered so far.
Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:
“I was rather dismayed to see the low level of vaccines so far delivered to GP practices across North Down from a NI Assembly question which revealed the level of vaccines delivered in Bangor. This is rather surprising, especially after the Health Minister seemed to indicate the urgency we needed to get things rolled out and how successful we have apparently been so far.”
“The Health Minister needs to urgently show leadership, and no matter what the cost ensure that the resources for the fastest possible delivery of the vaccine to our GP practices and staff and training that are needed are put in place, so that everyone in North Down who wishes to take the vaccine voluntarily gets the vaccine but at a speedier rate. I know that this is a huge undertaking, but surly there is the funding there to expand on the rate of vaccine delivery. If the Minister needs to use the Army to deliver vaccines, I am sure people will not mind because we are all in this together and it makes no difference as to who gives us the vaccination”
“The Health Minister has the plans in place, he just needs to increase vaccine delivery and the capacity and if there is financial issues then go to the NI Executive and discuss the problem, and ask for more finances to get this done faster, as people’s lives and health are depended on this, and we want to get back to normality as soon as we all can, so let’s speed this process up”
