Alex Easton MLA has praised all emergency services and agencies after the storms on Wednesday evening.
Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:
“I would like to take this opportunity to praise and thank Transport NI, NI Electricity, PSNI and the Housing Executive for doing a Stirling job in keeping the public safe during the Gail force storm on Wednesday evening. There were at least four trees down and electricity poles down across North Down from the Rathgael Road in Bangor, Whinney Hill in Holywood and also Churchill Avenue in Millilse. All those involved were quick to divert traffic and seal the areas off and also ensure that the blockages causes by trees falling were quickly cleared. I visited both the Rathgael Road in Bangor and also Churchill Avenue in Millisle and we were extremely fortunate that there was no damage to people property or to any person. Thank you once gain to the Emergency services for their effort and we are extremely proud of you all”
