Alex Easton MLA has today joined forces with local Councillors to oppose the closure of Northfield House rehabilitation centre in Donaghadee.
Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:
“The seriousness of the attempts by the SE Trust to close Northfield House are very concerning indeed, and it has prompted some of the local Councillors and myself to get together to show out opposition to the SE Trusts sneaky attempt to close Northfield House but to also show our solidarity with the staff that have been relocated to other facilities many miles away. A petition will be going round every business in Donaghadee to complement the one on line and we will do everything we can to try and make the SE Trust listen to our and the staff and residents of Donagahdees concerns at what they are trying to do. This sneaky attempt by the trust has not gone unnoticed, and we will raise this at the highest levels to ensure that the SE Trusts management are held to account for their actions, at a time were these facilities are needed the most they are trying a stunt like this, and they should be ashamed of their actions.”
