Alex Easton MLA is deeply concerned and disappointed at the announcement to close the Ulster Bank branch in Donaghadee.
Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:
“This is deeply disturbing to hear that the Ulster Bank is closing, which is literally the last bank in Donaghadee, this will leave a huge hole in banking services in the town and many residents will have to travel to other towns to access the bank if they are not online with the internet. With the population of Donaghadee growing, this will come as a bitter blow. I will be writing to the Ulster Bank Chief Executive to see if there can be some sort of service provided, for customers through the local Post office and if a hole in the wall cash machine can be left in place for cash withdrawals. As a result the customers of the bank living in Donaghadee have to suffer, and it is really not good enough.”
