“Following the incident in Castle Park on Friday evening, the North Down MLA stated; “I wish to utterly condemn the unprovoked attack on two children in Castle Park on Friday. To attack two children in what PSNI is investigating as a racially motivated assault is contemptible and merits the full force of the law to deliver justice to two innocent children.
I unite with the PSNI in their call for information it is the duty of anyone who can assist the Police immediately. Hate crime has no place anywhere I can tell you now that right across North Down hate crime is repudiated and our thoughts and prayers are with the children who sadly have had to suffer this severe trauma. We send them our best wishes for their recovery both physically and psychologically. Justice must be done and be seen to be done it is no less than these innocent children deserve”
