Alex Easton MLA has today received through an NI Assembly written question from the DRD Minister that the Towerview area is to be considered for footway reconstruction.
Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:
“This is great news to hear that the DRD are to consider Towerview Crescent and Towerview Avenue for possible inclusion in the Road Service programme for the 2014-2016 footway reconstruction for North Down. This will mean that the DRD will also provide dropped kerbs for the elderly and disabled to provide safer walking areas within the Towerview area. It will also have the effect that the old concrete slabs will be done away with which will reduce the need for regular weed spraying and do away with the cracked and broken slabs. I welcome the acknowledgement that Towerview Crescent and Towerview Avenue are in need of footpath resurfacing and look forward to them being included in the DRD Footpath scheme.”
