Alex Easton MLA has today expressed alarm at report a young child has been approached in Castle Park, Bangor.
Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:
“This is highly disturbing and worrying that someone feels they can grab a primary school child on their way home. Nobody has the right to grab or touch a child and this is totally unacceptable behaviour and needs to be stopped. I can only imagine the horror and stress this child went through with this incident and my thoughts go out to the child and their parents. There is far too much happening within Castle Park in recent times and I believe that the Council need to seriously look at CCTV being installed within the area, the PSNI also need to step up regular patrols. I would urge anyone that seen this incident or have any information to come forward to the PSNI so that the individual can be caught and brought before the courts. I would urge parents to also know where your child is at all times.”
