Alex Easton MLA has expressed concerns at the increase of cancelled operations at the SE Trust.
Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:
“This is a worrying trend to see such a large increase in cancelled operations by the SE Trust from 3 ,868 to 4,406.I am unsure as to the reason they are being cancelled and we need to get to the bottom of this. With many patients having to wait for long periods for their operations to see on average at least nine a day is not acceptable. It is important that we improve the productivity and use to the maximum our theatres so that we help as many patients get better quicker. I will be today writing to the SE Trust Chief Executive to seek answers as to the reasons why and what is being done to address the situation.”
