Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:
“This decision by TNI street lighting division to removing lighting from the rear alleyways in the Cypress Park area of Donaghadee is both dangerous and a serious error of judgement. Mostly pensioners who cannot see out the back now to use the alleyway if needed at night occupy this area. It also makes it dangerous for the pensioners as they can no longer see where they are walking and especially in the winter could slip and fall. It has also been highlighted that the alleyways will now become hot spots for anti-social behaviour. I am urging TNI Street Lighting Division to rethink their strategy and think what is needed for the residents not trying to save money”
