Alex Easton MLA has today visited the bus shelter at Ashfield Drive, Donaghadee, to see the vandalism caused to the same bus shelter in what is a second attack within a two month period.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“I am disappointed to see that the same bus shelter has been vandalized again within a two month period especially when the local community had worked so hard to obtain it for the residents living in the area. It costs hundreds of pounds to fix these bus shelters, which are needed by the local community especially for the elderly and school children to shelter in when there is bad weather, this sort of behavior is totally unnecessary and I just don’t understand the mentality of those responsible.”

“I am today calling on anyone who has any information on who is vandalizing these bus shelters, to pass this information onto the PSNI so they can be prosecuted by the courts. The sad thing is that this affects the whole community, and it is the rate payers that have to foot the bill to have them mended. I have reported the issue to Council so that the glass was cleared up so quickly and the bus shelter mended so quickly.”
