Alex Easton MLA has today condemned the persons responsible for anti-Semitic graffiti write n on several walls in and around the Clandeboye Road area of Bangor.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“I see anti-Semitism is sadly in Bangor and having Jewish ancestry I find this deeply upsetting and I am rather annoyed to see this in several locations around the Clandeboye Road area of Bangor. Thankfully it has been removed quickly when reported, however it poses a serious question on what measures the PSNI and Council plan to take to tackle this increase graffiti across North Down and on a more serious question what can be done to address anti-Semitism. There was a debate on anti-Semitism only this year in the Northern Ireland Assembly in which every political party condemned anti-Semitism. Those responsible for this graffiti need to bear in mind the affect this has on people, and also the cost, it may seem fun and a trendy thing to write or do, but if you’re caught and you will be eventually you could end up with a criminal record. I would urge anyone who has any information on this anti-Semitic graffiti to come forward to the PSNI or Council and I urge both to crack on those involved in graffiti across North Down.”
